There is no single best generative AI course in Singapore. The right one depends on three things: whether you are paying for yourself or for a team, which AI tool you will use at work, and whether the exact course is funded for you. For an individual Singaporean who wants a subsidised classroom course, the university, polytechnic and WSQ courses below cost from S$0 to about S$970 after funding, for one to three days. For a company training a whole team on its own approved tool, an in-house workshop is usually the better fit, though most of those are not subsidised.

This guide compares twelve courses on the same fields: format, length, published fee, funding as stated, certificate and who each one suits. It also explains how SkillsFuture Credit, course fee subsidies, the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit and UTAP work, using the official pages.

Every fee, date and funding line was checked on the provider’s page or the official course directory on 19 October 2026. Fees and funding change often, so confirm the figure for your exact course and your own eligibility before you pay.

Who publishes this guide, and how we chose

HighSpark publishes this guide, and HighSpark is one of the twelve providers in it. No provider paid to appear, and none was given kinder wording for being a client or a partner. We held our own courses to the same rule as everyone else’s: if a fact is not published, the cell says “not published”.

How the list was built:

  • Who is in it. We started from the courses that rank for “generative ai course singapore” and “gen ai course singapore” on 19 October 2026, then added the main government-linked, university and polytechnic options a working professional would also consider. We kept courses aimed at working professionals or teams and left out degree programmes and technical machine-learning courses.
  • How it is ordered. By type of course, then alphabetically within each type. There are no scores or ranks. HighSpark sits in the last group because it runs team workshops, not because of where we wanted it.
  • What counts as a fact. Fees, funding and course codes come from the provider’s own page or the official course directory. Where the two disagree, we say so. Marketing claims (ratings, “number of learners”) are left out.

The twelve, in full

AI Singapore: AI for Essential Digital Skills

A free, self-paced online course from AI Singapore, built with the AVPN AI Opportunity Fund and based on the Google AI Essentials framework. Five modules cover what AI is, using AI tools for productivity, prompting, responsible use and keeping up. It is aimed at “working professionals and students”. There is no live trainer and no SkillsFuture course code, and the page does not name the tools it uses.

Best for: anyone who wants to try AI at no cost before choosing a paid course.

NUS-ISS: (Generative) AI for Business Leaders (or Government Leaders)

A two-day classroom course for department heads, team leaders, managers, business owners and public-sector leaders. It covers where generative AI fits in a business, information retrieval and data analysis, automation, marketing and customer service, and a framework for trust and governance. Participants need at least a year of work experience and access to a tool that can build custom AI assistants. The page lists Pair, Gemini, ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot Studio and Qwen.

The fee is S$1,200 plus GST (S$1,308). After funding it is S$708 for Singaporeans and PRs, and S$468 for Singaporeans aged 40 and above or SME-sponsored staff. NUS-ISS states that “SSG Funding is valid up to 26 November 2026”, so check the funding for later runs. The Certificate of Completion needs 100% attendance and a pass in the assessment.

Best for: managers who need to decide where AI fits, rather than learn prompting drills.

SIT: Generative Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals

Two days in person at SIT’s Punggol campus, aimed at senior and middle managers and IT professionals moving into business roles. It covers structured prompting, building a simple chatbot, use-case design, and image and video generation with tools such as ChatGPT, DALL·E and RunwayML.

The full fee is S$2,180 including GST. SIT lists S$654 for Singaporeans under 40, PRs and LTVP+ holders (70% funding) and S$254 for Singaporeans aged 40 and above (90%). A Certificate of Attainment needs at least 75% attendance and a pass in the assessment. The next run listed is 1 to 2 December 2026.

Best for: managers who want text, image and video in one course, with a university certificate.

SMU Academy: Generative AI: Applications, Prompt Engineering and the power of ChatGPT

A one-day, in-person weekday course with no prerequisites, for professionals and SMEs who want to apply ChatGPT. The fee is S$1,090 including GST, “as low as SGD127 after maximum funding”. SkillsFuture Credit can be used by self-sponsored Singaporeans aged 25 and above. The digital Certificate of Completion needs at least 75% attendance and a pass in the assessment. The next run listed is 13 November 2026.

One caution: the course description still opens with early-2023 news about Microsoft and OpenAI. Ask SMU Academy when the content was last updated.

Best for: a short, low-cost, university-badged start with ChatGPT.

Singapore Polytechnic: Generative AI and ChatGPT for Business

The full title is “Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Chat Generative Pre-training Transformer (ChatGPT) for Business”. It is a two-day, 16-hour classroom course at SP’s Dover Road campus, covering content creation, data analysis and automation, customer engagement, office productivity and ethics, with ChatGPT. SP’s own page does not publish the standard fee. The official directory lists a full fee of S$730, SkillsFuture subsidies of S$511 and an estimated payable fee “From $ 0.00” after SkillsFuture Credit. The next run on SP’s page is 17 to 18 December 2026.

For companies, SP runs a separate corporate route, AI Jumpstart, by enquiry.

Best for: Singaporeans who want the lowest out-of-pocket cost for a two-day classroom course.

SUTD Academy: Certified Generative AI Professional

Two days (14 hours in the directory) for managers, team leaders and professionals in any function. The entry requirement is a diploma, A levels or relevant work experience. The outline names ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity and DeepSeek.

The fee is S$2,725 including GST. The directory lists the same course at S$2,500. After funding it is S$817.50 for Singaporeans under 40 and PRs, and S$317.50 for Singaporeans aged 40 and above or SME-sponsored staff. SUTD notes the course is “not eligible for the $4,000 credit under SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) top-up scheme”. The certificate type is not published, though completing this course and Certified Prompt Engineering leads to the SUTD Academy Professional Certificate in Generative AI Practitioner.

Best for: professionals who want broad tool coverage and a stackable university certificate.

Heicoders Academy: GA100, Generative AI for Automation and Productivity

18 hours, run as three full days or six three-hour sessions, online or in a classroom. It goes beyond chat into AI agents and workflow automation, naming ChatGPT, Nano Banana, ElevenLabs, Manus and n8n. It is beginner-friendly and needs no coding, with a short assessment before you enrol.

The fee is S$1,798.50 including GST. After funding it is S$643.50 for Singaporeans aged 40 and above, and S$973.50 for Singaporeans aged 21 to 39 and PRs. You receive a WSQ Statement of Attainment and a Heicoders certificate.

Heicoders also publishes a “best AI courses” list that ranks its own course first. We mention it so you can weigh that list accordingly.

Best for: people who want to automate work with agents and workflows, not only write better prompts.

Info-Tech Academy: WSQ Effective Use of Generative AI Tools

Two days (16 hours), online or in a classroom, with laptops provided for hands-on learning. It covers ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and DeepSeek, with hands-on activities such as building presentation slides and data analysis.

The fee is S$1,000 plus GST. After funding it is S$590 for Singaporeans aged 21 to 39 and PRs, and S$390 for Singaporeans aged 40 and above. You receive a WSQ Statement of Attainment and an Info-Tech certificate.

Best for: the lowest full fee among the WSQ courses here, and a broad audience.

NTUC LearningHub: Generative AI for Business Professionals

Two days (16 hours), in a classroom or live online, for business, marketing and communications staff. It has the widest tool list in this guide: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity and Notion AI for text, DALL·E 3, Midjourney and Adobe Firefly for images, Runway and Synthesia for video, and ElevenLabs and Descript for audio. No technical background is needed, though NTUC LearningHub recommends a basic understanding of AI.

The fee is S$1,200 before GST (S$1,308 with GST). After funding it is S$708 with GST for Singaporeans under 40 and PRs, and S$468 for Singaporeans aged 40 and above. The page states the course is “funded by SWDA under Tier 1 funding”, with an ICT eligibility test. You receive a Statement of Attainment and a certificate of completion with 75% attendance and a pass.

Best for: teams that want to see text, image, video and audio tools in one course.

Vertical Institute: Generative AI Course (WSQ Generative AI Bootcamp)

Three days (seven lessons and an assessment), online or in person. The directory lists 21 hours. It focuses on ChatGPT in depth, including prompt frameworks, custom GPTs, retrieval-augmented generation and the OpenAI API, and touches Claude and Gemini. No prior AI or coding experience is needed.

The fee is S$1,650 plus GST. After funding it is S$643.50 for Singaporeans and PRs aged 40 and above, and S$973.50 for those under 40. Vertical states SkillsFuture Credit, UTAP and PSEA are claimable, and lists funding validity from 20 November 2025 to 19 November 2027. You receive a WSQ Statement of Attainment and a Vertical Institute certificate.

Best for: beginners who want to go deep on ChatGPT and see how custom GPTs and the API work.

Aventis Learning Group: Microsoft Copilot Essentials

A one-day public course on Microsoft 365 Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, also available in-house. The fee is S$680 before GST, and no government funding is stated. Learners must bring a laptop with a paid Copilot licence. Dates are listed from November 2026 to July 2027.

Best for: individuals in Microsoft 365 companies who want a fixed-date Copilot day.

HighSpark: Generative AI courses for teams

HighSpark runs six AI courses: AI at Work, a hands-on workshop for teams already using AI; three tool courses for the tool your company has approved (ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot); Power Presentations with AI; and the AI Marketing Machine.

Courses run from a half day (about four hours) to two days, virtually or in person, for groups of 8 to 20. The tool courses usually run in your company’s own plan or Microsoft 365 tenant, using fictional or non-confidential material. Tools named across the courses include ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Gamma, Canva and Moda. Most courses are planned for one team; Power Presentations with AI and the AI Marketing Machine also have public runs.

What a buyer should weigh against the funded options above:

  • No Singapore funding. No Singapore funding is currently available for HighSpark’s AI courses. Power Presentations with AI is HRDF claimable for Malaysian companies.
  • No published price. Fees depend on format, group size and tailoring, and come as a quote.
  • Certificates on request. HighSpark does not issue a WSQ Statement of Attainment. Certificates can be provided on request upon successful completion.

Best for: a company that wants one team trained on its own approved tool, or on presentations and marketing work specifically. An individual looking for a subsidised seat should pick one of the funded courses above.

Also considered

  • BELLS Institute, Certificate in AI Essentials. A three-day, 23-hour classroom course with a wide tool list. We left it out of the table because its page and the official directory disagree on the fee (S$1,282 against S$1,300 before GST) and the minimum age (21 against 25).
  • Overpowered. Bespoke corporate AI workshops, run in-house or virtually, using tools such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code and Microsoft Copilot. Length, price and funding are not published.

How to choose: a checklist

Run each course on your shortlist through these questions. If a provider cannot answer one, that tells you something too.

  1. Does it teach the tool you will use at work? A ChatGPT-only course is little help if your company runs Microsoft 365 Copilot or Claude. Check the named tools, not “leading AI tools”.
  2. Is it the right level? Literacy courses explain what AI is. Applied courses have you do real tasks. Build courses cover agents, automation and APIs. Pick one level, not a tour of all three.
  3. Is this exact course funded, for you? Funding attaches to a course code and to the learner, not to the provider. Look the code up yourself (see below).
  4. Who is paying? Self-sponsored learners can use SkillsFuture Credit. Employer-sponsored learners may get the SME rate, Absentee Payroll and the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit instead.
  5. Will you practise on your own work tool? A sandbox account is fine for learning. Practising in your company’s own plan or tenant makes the habits stick, but needs IT’s approval.
  6. What are the data rules? Ask what you are allowed to paste into the tool during class, and whether exercises use fictional or real material.
  7. What certificate do you get, and what does it need? A WSQ Statement of Attainment usually needs 75% attendance and a passed assessment. Some certificates need 100% attendance.
  8. How current is the content? AI tools change monthly. Ask when the outline was last updated.
  9. Who teaches it? Ask for the trainer’s name and what they use AI for in their own work.
  10. What happens after? Templates, prompt libraries, follow-up sessions or none.

How funding works for AI courses in Singapore

Four schemes matter for a working professional or a company. All figures here come from official pages checked on 19 October 2026. Official pages now describe these as courses funded by SWDA, the Skills and Workforce Development Agency.

Course fee subsidies (the “up to 70%” or “90%”)

These are deducted from the fee when you register for a funded course. SkillsFuture’s own funding page splits courses into two tiers:

WhoTier 1 coursesTier 2 courses
Singapore Citizens, PRs and LTVP+ holdersup to 70%up to 50%
Singapore Citizens aged 40 and aboveup to 90%up to 70%

Source: SkillsFuture funding page. SME-sponsored staff can get the higher rates through Enhanced Training Support for SMEs. This is why the same course shows two or three different “nett” prices: the figure depends on your age, citizenship and sponsor.

SkillsFuture Credit (individuals)

Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above have a S$500 opening credit they can use on courses listed on MySkillsFuture. Citizens aged 40 and above also have a S$4,000 Mid-Career credit, but it only covers pre-selected courses, which most short AI courses are not. You claim it yourself online before the course starts, on top of any subsidy.

SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit, SFEC (employers)

Eligible employers received a S$10,000 credit that covers up to 90% of their out-of-pocket fees on funded courses, on top of other subsidies. The current credit has a hard deadline: it expires on 30 November 2026, and the last training day must fall on or before that date. A redesigned SFEC with a fresh S$10,000 was announced in Budget 2025 for the second half of 2026. Check Enterprise Singapore for the start date and criteria. If your company has unused credit, a short AI course before the end of November is one way to use it.

UTAP (NTUC members)

NTUC’s Union Training Assistance Programme pays 50% of the unfunded course fee for paid-up members. The yearly cap is S$250 for members under 40 and S$500 for members aged 40 and above. Several provider pages quote only the S$500 figure, so check your own cap. You claim within six months of finishing, with a certificate or at least 75% attendance. Since 1 May 2026, UTAP also supports selected AI tool subscriptions taken up within a year of an approved AI course.

Absentee Payroll (employers)

Employers can claim S$4.50 per hour for eligible staff attending a funded course, up to S$100,000 a year, after the course is completed.

How to check a course yourself

  1. Find the course reference, which starts with “TGS-”, on the provider’s page.
  2. Individuals: search it on MySkillsFuture and log in with Singpass to see your estimated fee.
  3. Employers: search the official course directory for business.
  4. If there is no TGS code, assume the course is not funded until the provider shows you one.

Malaysia: HRD Corp

Malaysian employers registered with HRD Corp can use their levy for approved training, applying through the e-TRiS portal before the training date. HighSpark’s Power Presentations with AI is HRDF claimable; see our HRDF claimable courses.

Questions to ask a provider before you book

  • What is the course code, and is funding valid on the dates we want?
  • What will I pay after funding, including GST, for my age and sponsor type?
  • Which tools will we use, and on whose account?
  • What can we paste into the tool during class? Do exercises use real or fictional material?
  • What do I need to bring: a laptop, a paid licence, a company login?
  • What is the attendance and assessment rule for the certificate?
  • Who is the trainer, and when was the outline last updated?
  • For a team: can you adapt the examples to our work, and what is the class size?

Frequently asked questions

What is the best generative AI course in Singapore?

There is no single best course. For a subsidised classroom course as an individual, the university, polytechnic and WSQ courses in our table cost from S$0 to about S$970 after funding. For a team using one approved tool, an in-house workshop fits better. Match the course to your tool, your level and who is paying.

How much does a generative AI course cost in Singapore?

Published full fees in this guide run from free (AI Singapore) to S$2,725 including GST (SUTD). After funding, Singaporeans pay from S$0 (Singapore Polytechnic, after SkillsFuture Credit, per the directory) to a few hundred dollars for most funded courses. Unfunded team workshops are usually quoted per group.

Can I use SkillsFuture Credit for a generative AI course?

Yes, if the course is listed on MySkillsFuture. Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above can use the S$500 opening credit on listed courses. The S$4,000 Mid-Career credit covers selected courses only, and short AI courses are usually not among them.

Can I use SkillsFuture Credit and UTAP together?

Some providers say you can. BELLS, for example, says to apply SkillsFuture Credit first and UTAP after. UTAP pays 50% of the unfunded fee, capped at S$250 or S$500 a year depending on age. Confirm with e2i before relying on both.

Can my company use the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit for AI training?

Yes, for eligible employers and funded courses. The current credit expires on 30 November 2026, and training must end by then. A redesigned SFEC with a fresh S$10,000 was announced in Budget 2025 for the second half of 2026, so check Enterprise Singapore for the start date and criteria.

Do I need coding experience for a generative AI course?

No, for every course in this guide. Heicoders and Vertical Institute touch automation and APIs, but both say no coding is needed. NUS-ISS asks for basic digital knowledge and access to a tool that can build custom assistants.

Is a WSQ Statement of Attainment better than a certificate of completion?

They show different things. A WSQ Statement of Attainment shows you passed an assessment against a national skills standard. A certificate of completion shows you attended and, often, passed the course’s own assessment. For most workplace AI skills, what you can do afterwards matters more than the paper.

Are HighSpark’s AI courses SkillsFuture claimable?

No. No Singapore funding is currently available for HighSpark’s AI courses. Power Presentations with AI is HRDF claimable for Malaysian companies.

Where to go next

If you are training a team rather than yourself, start with the Generative AI courses for teams overview, or go straight to AI at Work. If you are still deciding which AI tool to train on, read Claude vs ChatGPT vs Copilot for work first. If your team builds presentations with AI, our guides on how to use ChatGPT to make a presentation and Copilot in PowerPoint show the workflow we teach.
