AI AT WORK

Redesign how your team works with AI

A hands-on AI workshop for teams who already use AI and want better, safer and more repeatable results on real work. You apply AI in the workplace to your own tasks, not demo examples.

Two colleagues in an open-plan office working through an AI task together on a laptop, with notebooks and sticky notes on the desk

Trusted by teams in best-in-class organisations

Most teams use AI one person and one prompt at a time.

Facing issues such as:

  • Output quality that changes with every prompt
  • Staff unsure which tool suits which task
  • Data analysis that nobody has checked before it reaches a report
  • Good prompts that live in one person's chat history and never get shared
  • Uncertainty about what is safe to paste into an AI tool

A workflow you rebuilt yourself, ready to share.

  • Understand the system

Know how an AI tool is put together, so you can choose the right setup instead of only rewording prompts.

  • Prompt with intent

Use a four-part prompt and add the one detail only you know, so output reflects your context.

  • Trust what you ship

Check data and AI output before you build on it, and turn a repeated task into a reusable skill your colleagues can run.

Who is this course for?

For teams that are past the basics and want AI to fit their daily work

Mixed-Function Teams

Staff from different departments who have tried AI tools and want a shared, practical standard.

Managers and Team Leads

People who want their team to produce checked, repeatable work with AI instead of one-off experiments.

Learning and Development Teams

Teams rolling out AI skills across a company who need a hands-on session that goes beyond an introduction.

Course Overview

Learn by redoing one real piece of work.

Workshop Agenda

  • Explain how an AI tool works: the model, the harness around it and the knowledge it can draw on
  • Write four-part prompts that include the detail only you know
  • Check a messy dataset before analysing it, then turn it into insights and a simple dashboard
  • Verify AI output and apply safe-use habits to what you paste in and share
  • Turn a repeated task into a reusable skill and present the redesigned workflow

Each session follows the same rhythm: a short explanation of the idea, a hands-on task on your own laptop, then a debrief. You attempt tasks your own way first, see where they break, then apply a method that fixes them. Exercises use fictional or non-confidential material, so nobody needs to share company data. Before the course we ask which tasks your teams handle, so the exercises match their work. We update the content before every run as the tools change.

AI at Work curriculum (half day, 6 modules)

The half day is about four hours of hands-on work in your own AI tool, with one 15-minute break; timings are approximate. Full-day and 2-day runs follow the same six modules with more time for the capstone.

Module 1: Where You Are with AI Today (35 min)

Talk and Discussion

  • Share how you use AI now, where it saved time and where it let you down
  • See the potential and the pitfalls through one quick before and after
  • Name the real task you will redesign during the session
Module 2: How AI Really Works (35 min)

Talk and Demo

  • The model, the harness around it and the knowledge base behind it
  • Chat compared with agents, and why the same prompt gives different results
  • How usage limits work, and how to get more from each run

Hands-on

  • Give your AI tool the context of your role so it drafts in your world
Module 3: Prompting That Works (practical prompt engineering, 40 min)

Talk

  • The four-part prompt: who, what, with what, and how
  • Add the detail only you know and make the task impossible to do well without it

Hands-on

  • Take a weak prompt on your own task, rebuild it, run both and compare
  • Leave with a prompt cheat sheet
Module 4: Data and Dashboards, Checked First (45 min)

Talk and Demo

  • Why insights built on messy data are wrong however well they read
  • The sequence: sanity-check, summarise, find insights, write the narrative
  • Safe-use habits for what you paste in and what you share

Hands-on

  • Attempt a messy practice dataset your own way, then apply the sequence and compare
  • Build a simple dashboard and keep it private
Module 5: Skills and Workflow Redesign (50 min)

Talk and Demo

  • What a skill is, and why any task you repeat can become one
  • See a working skill built and used in a real workflow

Hands-on

  • Capstone: rebuild a workflow as a reusable, shareable skill
  • Showcase the result and get peer and trainer feedback
Module 6: Verify, Save and Commit (10 min)

Wrap-Up

  • Recap how to verify output and keep your work safe
  • Save your skill and commit to the next workflow you will redesign
  • A concept-level look at what agent tools unlock next

Worked example

Redesign one workflow, in any AI tool

The workshop's data exercise and capstone, shown on a fictional monthly sales report. Every step works in whichever AI assistant your company approves.

  1. Before: the usual way

A participant pastes last month's sales export into their AI tool and asks for insights. The answer reads well, but it rests on data nobody checked.

  2. Sanity-check first

The practice dataset has planted errors: duplicates, a wrong total and odd values. The method starts by asking the AI to find them, then confirming each one.

  3. Summarise, then find insights

Only on clean data does the AI summarise the month and propose insights, with a simple dashboard kept private.

  4. Write the narrative

A four-part prompt (who, what, with what and how) turns the insights into a short update for the participant's manager.

  5. After: a reusable skill

The whole sequence is saved as a skill, so next month's report runs the same checks in the same order, whoever runs it.
